About
apreet is an app for business travelers that shows you who you already know near each trip destination. When friends and colleagues join apreet, trips overlapping in time and place lead to mutual itinerary matches only if you have each other's numbers. Here is the team and the story behind it.
We got together because we are fascinated by people. People make and have made the difference in our lives. We value meeting new people and engaging with the ones we already know: family, friends, and contacts. apreet is on a mission to make it easier to meet people you know, both while traveling and while at home, by helping you plan in advance whom to meet, wherever you go.
Talking to people we have not seen for a while broadens our horizons. New ideas and opportunities often develop at the fringes of our networks. We do not want you to miss any opportunity, whether it is for your business or just for the pleasure of seeing an old friend.

The name apreet is short for appreciate to meet
. It is a reminder to value the people you already know and to meet them in person, on purpose, rather than leaving it to chance. The friends and contacts you have built up over the years are worth seeing, and a trip is often the perfect reason to do it.
That belief has guided us since the beginning. apreet was founded in April 2015, and the idea has stayed the same: help you meet the people you already know, in real life, while you travel.
The idea itself is older than apreet, and we are proud of the lineage: read about our roots and the London service that pioneered the idea in 2007.
Origins
Why we started building apreet, and the moment that made it obvious something had to change.
When traveling to New York I wanted to meet as many of my friends and contacts as possible. So I reached out to 16 of them on LinkedIn. Half of them, eight, were out of town. I thought, maybe at the same time, eight other people I know from around the world are in town while I am there. How would I know who they are?
A status update on X or LinkedIn works sometimes, but it gets buried fast in the timeline, even more so today, with algorithms aggressively promoting content that drives interactions. Nearby Friends on Facebook is interesting, too, for people who have opted in and still use Facebook.
Still, I'd prefer to set up my meetings in advance. Real-time matches are only so good. Why is there not a solution that lets me see who'll be in town?
So my team and I started building apreet. Who are you going to meet next week? Whom can you meet anywhere you go?

Why it matters
