Quick version. Once you connect Claude or ChatGPT through the Agent Gateway, you can ask it who you already know near a city, or whether a specific person overlaps with a trip you have coming up. The answer comes from your real apreet contacts, not a guess.
What you can ask
Who do I already know near here?
Name a city and get back the people in your address book whose home or work address is there. This is the same city-level matching apreet uses everywhere: it tells you the city, not the street.
Is [name] someone I will cross paths with?
Ask about a specific person by name, and the assistant checks whether they overlap with any of your upcoming trips. Useful when you already have someone in mind and want to know if a trip makes a meeting possible.
Both answers come from the contacts and permissions you authorised. The assistant is reading your apreet address book, not searching the internet.
What it cannot do yet
It cannot tell you when you last spoke to someone, or filter your contacts by role or company. apreet does not track meeting history, and job title and company are optional fields many contacts do not have. It cannot answer "who introduced me to someone", because apreet does not store how you met a contact, only who they are. Avoid reading more into an answer than the data behind it: a match means an address is nearby, not a recommendation.
Before you connect
Four things worth knowing up front, because they decide whether this is for you.
- Assistants. Claude and ChatGPT can connect today. Others are not supported yet.
- Where. Setting it up happens on a computer, not from an AI app on your phone.
- Effort. It is a one-time setup you do yourself, in the assistant.
- Maturity. The Agent Gateway is new. Treat it as an early feature.
